OUR STORY
“In the beginning was the Word, The Word was with God, The Word was God”, John 1:1. The abiding presence of the word ensured that there was healing, freedom, declaration of God’s acceptable truth, and straightening of crooked path. And the Lord ordered that word to kindle and urge the unstoppable desire in His servant, Pastor Cal Lawanson to have a perfectly matching vision with that of the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye. Pastor Lawanson was called from a very successful ministry in the United Kingdom to gather and shepherd a scattered and beleaguered Household of Faith in the dreary and lonely greater Kansas area.
The mandate from God was specific and direct; faithful immigrant and willing natives of greater Kansas must be united, healed, freed, and delivered by the truth. Thus in 2007, Pastor Cal Lawanson arrived to give expression and execution to the marching order from God.
Nothing was familiar, but he was focused on his mission and the vision set before him. This man of God, Pastor Cal Lawanson was pioneering a seemingly strange ministry by inviting anyone who would grant him audience. The beginning was small. But the church took off with a handful number of committed members. Then the bright star unfolded in its firmament, a place where people of great value are raised. A new dawn shined through the land, an excitement in the hearts of the people. A light on the mountain top.
Night vigil took place in a two bedroom apartment, where the presence of our Lord was evident. Slowly but surely when a man’s ways pleases the Lord, He will grant him the desires of his heart. The apartment grew smaller because the believers grew larger.
The search for a bigger space began. Our Lord smiled on Wisdom Assembly and made room for a bigger place of worship, the Holiday Inn, North Kansas City. The stay was short because God wanted a space bigger for his Covenant people. The Ministry relocated to Finnigan’s Hall in North Kansas City. A more reasonable but bigger place, where the ministry grew and the people were taught the unadulterated Word of God. Leadership and Discipleship classes were taught. Ministers were consecrated and the ministry grew more robust. The firm foundation of the ministry was established but with limitations. Wisdom Assembly was inaugurated with a great celebration.
The search for a semi permanent site was imperative so that Wisdom Assembly could have complete activities. That was how the church moved to 12125 Blue Ridge Blvd, Grandview Missouri and then later relocated to its own building which is the current location of the Church at 11225 Colorado Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64137. The church is now in the building and development phase to establish a more befitting Wisdom Embassy.
With God, everything has become possible. The people believed it, and they have been able to experience the practical glory of God. The church marches on and it is prevailing over the gates of hell. Nothing compares to the promises of God.
